As well as my career as a visual artist, I have studied creative digital technologies, and teach classes in web design, digital photo manipulation (using Adobe Photoshop), & interactive animation (using Macromedia Flash).
I began by teaching myself how to design & build a website to promote my artwork, and then actively pursued an education in this field. I took courses at the now defunct Arthouse in Temple Bar, Dublin, after which I was offered a job teaching.
I followed this up by completing a Masters of Science in Multimedia Systems at Trinity College Dublin. Since then I have continued teaching evening classes for Adult Continuing Education, as well as FAS courses for the long term unemployed.
I have created a short course in basic web design for those intimidated or less interested in the technical issues involved. I have also given customised one-on-one training to individuals, in Photoshop (digital image manipulation) and website design & management.
I keep my own skills up to date by creating experimental works
in Flash (interactive animation), creating digitally manipulated
images in Photoshop, and by maintaining this website. I have
had to teach myself many other software packages as part of
creating proposals for artwork and in promoting my artwork.
The most recent software to enter me lexicon in Google Sketchup,
a 3D editing package which is very handy for visulaising large
artworks in architectural settings.
This section of the site will be updated as I create new digital projects,
so come back for more!
